Reading to children can improve their brain health: improve concentration and attention, learning language (in this case, the English language), understanding words, develop their vocabulary, and learn about the world around them. Reading helps children to understanding writing skills, helps develop problem solving, and abstract thinking by using their imaginations. Children may even develop their empathy and emotional health by relating to fictional characters and situations. This can improve relationships with others. 

I hope to assist the children to have positive attitudes about reading. The main goal of this class is to inspire a love of reading that can last a lifetime! 

Ms. Jackie will bring 3-4 books to each session and read 2-3 depending on time of interaction and discussion length. Ms. Jackie will inspire wonderment and questions in the young minds of her leaners and ask them questions while she is reading. 

Books will be theme based (seasons, holidays, math, counting, adventures, etc...) all at a preschool, pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and at the highest, the 1st grade level. Please feel free to message the instructor for a detailed list of books to be used each week if you would like one!

This will be fun and engaging and I hope all students will love the adventures we will take through reading!
