Do you have what it takes to win Mr. Lemoncello's Great Library Race? In this class, you can find out. In this 5-week multi-day class, students will have the opportunity to read about Mr. Lemoncello and the many wonderful challenges he created in the library in Alexandriaville. Students will use higher-order thinking skills in order to solve challenges, expand their vocabulary, and make text-to-self connections. Students will be encouraged to share their thoughts about the book and make literature-to-life connections. The first week of class will be spent getting to know each other and making predictions about the book. Due to copyright laws, no part of the book will be read during class time. I have been a teacher in brick-and-mortar schools for 30 years. During this time, I taught reading and hosted book clubs as both a teacher and a Library Media Specialist. The book does contain the theme of bullying. I am qualified to teach this theme as I am certified as a teacher of children with Emotional and Behavior Disorders. I spent the majority of my 30-year career teaching in this field.
