Intro to Mindfulness: The 5 Senses
Learning about the 5 senses: taste, smell, hear, seeing and touch. Mindful meditation practice of perception of our senses.

How do we use our attention and a few ways we can breathe. Learn different Breathing techniques. Mindful breath meditation.

Lesson 3
Your Body
The amazing power of the body and awareness of the different ways we feel our body. Feelings, Pain, emotions, etc. Movement Meditation
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Our Brain and Stress
Students will learn about the Brain and nervous system, Digital consciousness and self regulation. What can I control and what I cannot control? Present moment awareness meditation
 Week 5
Lesson 5
A Kind Thought
Students will learn about the Mind and how our mind works and how our thoughts affect us and how we can make better choices of thoughts. Helpful thoughts vs unhelpful thoughts exercise. Self affirmations meditation.
 Week 6
Lesson 6
Who Am I?
Your Body, your song. Intro to Energy, Subtle body, Mood meter, Self awareness. Making choices for ourselves. Positive Affirmations meditation
 Week 7
Lesson 7
Your Superpower
The attitude of Gratitude. Students will put into practice breathing techniques, journal and understand daily practice of Gratitude. Gratitude scavenger hunt meditation.
 Week 8
Lesson 8
Mindful ME = Happy Me
Students will put into practice their favorite breathing technique, journal together and practice sound healing meditation
Students will develop self awareness, self acceptance, Improve focus and attention, help in managing and recognizing emotions and harness and sense of calm through our breathing, mindful movement and music.

With over 20 years of experience working in the field of Autism and early education as a music therapist and a teaching artist, Paloma creates a mindful session filled music and activities for students to grasp these mindful concepts.
With a sensory approach, the sessions are designed the student to learn basic concepts of mindfulness through different experiences that will provide the opportunity for the brain to explore in a creative and fun way.

Journaling is something you need to process your life. Find a beautiful journal or special pen to write and maybe even make art in it. We will talk about many things and you may need to write important thoughts down for sharing the next class.
