Students will receive individual assistance with skills to support improvement in reading. These skills include vocabulary, fluency, text analysis, shared readings, and text interpretation. Class time will be devoted to specific areas of interest or concern, and students can bring reading selections to the classroom setting for review and application of strategies. 

The class will also support interdisciplinary learning through reading, discussion, and application of ideas from reading selections related to science and social studies.

I will maintain a selection of age-appropriate reading selections that are available within the public domain. These selections will be chosen to support the class objectives.
