I have a PhD in Microbiology but soon thereafter became certified to teach because I wanted to be with kids. I have many years experience teaching middle school science including having taught 8th grade chemistry for several years. Even in an online setting, I make my classes as hands-on, interesting, fun, and rigorous as possible.

Students will need a notebook for assignments, observations, and experimental results. Occasionally students will need certain easily-obtainable materials from stores. For full participation, there are also a few materials that need to be purchased separately: a balance, a couple of 100/50 ml graduated cylinders, a few plastic pipets, pH paper, and a small alcohol thermometer.
