In this interactive, ongoing book club, learners will discuss the book of the week. This class will strengthen your learner's comprehension skills as they enjoy learning nuggets of history and geography. This book club will provide opportunities to enhance learners' development of critical thinking skills, vocabulary, and analysis of literary elements. Learners will discuss the plot, characters, settings, figurative language, and points of view and make connections with the text. Each week, an extension activity will accompany the book's famous person, place, or event. I will provide materials via the classroom! Beginning Aug. 11, 2024!! Students may join any week! Aug. 11 Week 1: Christmas in Camelot Aug. 18 Week 2: Haunted Castle on Hallows Eve Aug. 25 Week 3: Summer of the Sea Serpent September 1 Week 4: Winter of the Ice Wizard Week 5: Carnival At Candlelight Week 6: Season of the Sandstorm Week 7: Night of the New Magicians Week8: Blizzard of the Blue Moon Week 9: Dragon of the Red Dawn Week 10: Monday With A Mad Genius Week 11: Dark Day in the Deep Sea Week 12: Eve of the Emperor Penguin Week 13: Moonlight on the Magic Flute Week 14: A Good Night For Ghosts Week 15: Leprechauns in Late Winter Week 16: A Ghost Tale For Christmas Time Week 17: A Crazy Day With Cobras Week 18: Dogs in the Dead of Night Week 19: Abe Lincoln At Last Week 20: A Perfect Time For Pandas Week 21: Stallion By Starlight Week 22: Hurry Up, Houdini! As a licensed teacher specializing in Reading, I have had the opportunity to support and engage students with diverse learning needs. My experience has enabled me to develop a strong understanding of different instructional strategies to ensure that all students have the skills necessary for academic success. I am passionate about creating a positive classroom environment that is both supportive and engaging, where students feel comfortable sharing their ideas and participating in discussions. With my expertise in Reading instruction, I strive to help each student develop a lifelong love for reading while achieving academic goals.
My passion is literature. I believe stories make concepts more palpable to children. Stories can teach readers valuable lessons, make them laugh, and see things from a different perspective, or take them somewhere new!
When I have time, I like to travel, experience different cultures, and learn the history of people and places. I am also an animal lover! I have two dogs, have worked with animal rescues, and fostered cats and dogs for years.
