수업 소개
Hello families! This is a private class listing, by invitation only. This class is for the learners in my Preschool/PreK, Kindergarten, or 1st grade full curriculum circle time classes to enjoy a "meet and greet" with their teacher, Ms. Katie! I wanted to give my learners a chance to get to see, hear, and interact with me before we officially begin our full curriculum class together this fall. I hope you'll be able to join me! In this class, I will quickly introduce myself and greet the learners. We will play an icebreaker game to allow students to warm up to me and each other, as this is something that may take some learners some time to do. We will end our meeting with a brief show and tell, which will allow us to learn a bit about each other! Bring an item you love or find interesting to share with your classmates and teacher. Please note that it is not required to attend this class in order remain enrolled in the full curriculum class that begins in September or January. This is just a fun "extra!"

Students will participate in games that will allow them to practice their communication and social skills. They will also learn about their teacher and classmates.

Hello! I am Ms. Katie. I teach classes of different interests and topics for young learners. I have a passion for this age group and love to interact with my students in fun and engaging ways!
I believe that learning should be FUN and that even our youngest learners should have the opportunity to express themselves while developing and following their own interests. I strive to make my classroom a safe, engaging space where all learners feel comfortable doing so. I also believe in tailoring learning to a student's development, interests, and abilities. I have enjoyed the freedom to provide such educational experiences to my own children whom I homeschool, and love doing the same for my learners now on Outschool!
I have taught in a variety of settings and environments for the last 13 years. I have been a teacher for over 10 years. I spent 9 years in the public education system as a classroom teacher, 3 in 3rd grade and 6 in Kindergarten. I taught the entire 2020-21 school year virtually, to 50 Kindergarten students! I have years of experience in learning support, gifted support, autism support, emotional support. I have also helped to run an outdoor, nature-centered camp for children ages 4-14. I served as an Envirothon coach for grades 3 and 4, and helped to start and run a "Storybook STEM" club for elementary aged children. I have my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and my Master's Degree in Education. I am also a Google Certified Educator.
On a personal note, I love being outside, hiking, reading, traveling, baking, and being a mom to my own 3 young children who also love to take classes on Outschool.리뷰
