Join us as we discover our place in this great, big universe! In this once-weekly, ongoing class, young learners will begin to understand their place in our universe. Using a Montessori-inspired approach, we will study topics such as the planets in the solar system, Earth's continents and oceans, as well as the wildlife that inhabits them. Learners are welcome to drop-in each week to join our activity and lesson of the day. No prior Montessori or other knowledge is needed for this...
Please note: all materials are flexible. We can problem-solve if certain materials are not accessible. My goal is to make the materials used in class engaging yet accessible! We will use concrete materials when available. Daily materials: Weekly handouts sent by the teacher (printer access needed) Crayons, markers, or colored pencils Pencil (chunky pencil preferred, not required) Lesson specific: paint paintbrushes play-doh/clay water blue coloring one flower seed ribbon/string (length of learner's body) *Optional materials: Scarves and instruments for music and movement Toy animals during continent studies
