***This is asynchronous course is designed for individuals who respond well to independent learning structures and /or have accountability support available to ensure participation. If your learner requires more structured support or prefer a more collaborative experience, I highly recommend considering enrollment in my LIVE, synchronous course, where your learner will benefit from real-time instruction and accountability.


*Although this class is FLEX (asynchronous), I will host LIVE sessions weekly over the 8 week period. During these LIVE sessions, I will teach directly from the workbook, "Kumon Pre-Algebra-Grades 6-8)." If your learner is unable to join the LIVE, the recording will be shared. However, it is not necessary to attend the weekly LIVE sessions to be successful in this course. The weekly activities I share will build the needed skills to master the content in the workbook.

*I highly recommend purchasing "Kumon Pre Algebra-Grades 6-8 (Kumon Middle School Math Workbooks)."  We will work through this resource.


With this workbook, learners will have an opportunity to master each topic in pre-algebra in a step-by-step manner, building both understanding and confidence. Topics include fractions, exponents, order of operations, positive and negative numbers, algebraic expressions, and more.

The order in which units are covered is subject to change at the instructors discretion but this will not affect the curriculum covered.

Class Structure/Experience: Activities will post @ 9 AM EST. Students will learn and practice NEW concepts weekly.  Friday is feedback day.  I will review submissions and provide individual feedback to ensure students are mastering the concepts.

Teaching Style:  Student-Centered !!!  LOTS of interactive activities, games and discussions !!!  Research proves that a student-centered instructional model is key to learning!  

Interaction Level:  Medium to High !!!  Students will have an opportunity to engage with me via their learner chat!  It is my first priority to ensure the safety of all students so open classroom chat will be limited.  All interactive activities are selected to maximize learning while providing a safe environment to do so!
