Assessment strategies are crucial to gauge students' understanding of the material and their progress. 1 (Identifying Numbers to 10): -Observational Assessment: Observe students during class activities and discussions to ensure they can identify numbers and match them to quantities. -Written Assessment: Worksheet with numbers 1 to 10 for students to circle, write, or match with the correct quantity. 2 (Patterns): -Pattern Creation Assessment: Students create their own patterns and explain them verbally or in writing, demonstrating their understanding of the concept. -Pattern Recognition Assessment: Provide a set of pattern sequences and ask students to identify the missing element in each sequence. 3 (2D Shapes): -Shape Identification Assessment: Show students pictures or objects and ask them to identify and name the 2D shapes present. -Shape Creation Assessment: Have students create their own pictures or designs using 2D shapes and explain their choices. 4 (Counting with One-to-One Correspondence to 10): -Counting Objects Assessment: Provide a set of objects and ask students to count them accurately, demonstrating one-to-one correspondence. -Number Recognition Assessment: Present numbers randomly and ask students to point to or identify the corresponding quantity of objects. 5 (Counting Numbers): - Counting Story Assessment: Have students create a counting story or sequence of events using numbers up to 20 and illustrate it. - Counting Challenge Assessment: Provide a mix of objects and numbers up to 20, and ask students to match the correct quantity with the corresponding number. 6 (3D Shapes): -3D Shape Identification Assessment: Show pictures of 3D objects and ask students to identify and name the shapes. -3D Shape Construction Assessment: Provide 3D shapes or materials for students to build structures or objects, showcasing their understanding of 3D shapes. 7 (Counting with One-to-One Correspondence to 20): -Extended Counting Assessment: Ask students to count a larger set of objects (up to 20) with one-to-one correspondence. -Number-Object Matching Assessment: Present numbers randomly up to 20 and ask students to match them with the appropriate quantity of objects. 8 (Skip Counting): -Skip Counting Assessment: Give students sequences to skip count by 5's and 10's, both forwards and backward. -Skip Counting Application Assessment: Provide scenarios where skip counting is needed (e.g., counting by 10's to find the total number of fingers in a class), and ask students to apply their skip counting skills. We will include a mix of formative and summative assessments throughout the weeks to continually monitor students' progress and adjust instruction as needed.
