수학 단어 문제 마스터링 단일 및 다중 단계 문제 - 4학년 및 5학년

During this hands on, engaging math camp, your student will interact as they work together to solve single- and multi step story problems. Word problems will use skills outlined for 4th and 5th graders in the Common Core Math Standards and will help students see how mathematics apply in the real world. To scaffold your students learning, we will begin each concept with teacher modeling and instruction. Next, we will complete examples and practice together. Finally, each new concept will have independent practice where students can practice the new material and the teacher can check for understanding. 

Students will learn strategies to help recognize how story problems are written and steps to simplify and solve them. For each problem, students will work to recognize key information, identify what the question is asking them to do mathematically, and create a plan to complete the problem. Students will also work to develop strategies when they are stuck and need help them in their day to day math experiences. Word problems are often seen as intimidating and difficult for students. Let's help them build the skills they need to build their confidence and see themselves as mathematicians!
