Students will listen to the story What Mommies Do Best. We will discuss what we each love about our own Moms. Students will then watch a demonstration of how to create a collage-style portrait of a person using construction paper and scrap-paper. They will then each create a collage-style portrait of their Mom. This class is perfect for blooming artists!
Students will make connections through literature and understand different ways mothers care for us. Students will also follow step-by-step directions to create a collage-style portrait.
As a children’s author and illustrator, as well as elementary school teacher, I enjoy teaching young learners the process of creating art that is meaningful and reflects their own interests.
Paper - any kind will work, but construction paper and/or scrapbooking paper is best Scissors Glue Pencils, Crayons, Markers
