Through the guided drawing and painting process, students will learn how to create beautiful watercolor paintings with silhouettes. My teaching style involves breaking the process down into smaller, easy-to-follow steps. I pace the class according to the needs of the students; if needed, I give fast finishers a break, allowing students who need more time to complete their work, the time to do so, and even then, finishing before class ends is NOT the objective. The examples in the picture are only suggestive; students may also request a particular favorite if time allows. My classes are intended to be fun, informative, and a safe place to take artistic risks and make mistakes--that is experimentation, which artists do all the time! At the end of class, students will be invited to share their creations no matter what their progress is. More detailed information regarding this class can be found in the syllabus.

Painting the Backgrounds
We will create two backgrounds using wet-on-wet technique to create the illusion of water and of the sky at night. We will discuss and practice drawing trees for the landscape, and underwater life for the sea scene. Students will be able to choose sea life and research images for trees, corals, and sea animals prior to second session. Paintings need to dry thoroughly and be flattened, if possible, between heavy flat surfaces, such as books, as they will tend to curl when they dry. 50 분 온라인 라이브 레슨

Finishing the Landscape
We will use black acrylic paint to paint the land scene looking up at the sky. The teacher will demonstrate dotting stars in the sky with white paint and/or a white paint marker. Students may also make stars. 50 분 온라인 라이브 레슨

Finishing the Underwater Scene
We will use black acrylic paint to paint sea life from the perspective of looking up through the water toward the sky. 50 분 온라인 라이브 레슨

수업 자료
Sketchbooks and/or "practice" paper (like copier paper or a cheap tablet of newsprint paper) Watercolor paper Watercolor paint. Only blue will be used; a set of pan watercolors OR a single tube of blue can be used AT LEAST two paintbrushes: a medium flat brush and a very small round brush. A full set is preferred, to give students more choices. Black acrylic and white acrylic (can be craft paint) pencils, erasers, sharpener bowl of water (recycled sour cream or similar containers are GREAT for this!)
