In this class, we will look at the letters that Tolkein wrote his children, discuss them, and read these letters to see a different side to Tolkein. His stories discuss many characters including Father Christmas, polar bears, cave bears, Man on the Moon, goblins, elves, and snow-men. We will be looking at this book and the Father Christmas stories from a non-secular viewpoint of the creativity of the stories and drawings. Week 1: Who was Tolkein? Learning a new perspective of Tolkein and his works
I have been a teacher on Outschool since December 2018 and love encouraging students to gain confidence in themselves and have a love of learning and reading. Being from England, I bring an authentic viewpoint to this course to allow your students to not just learn about Tolkein but have fun along the way through his Father Christmas stories.
