수업 소개
Colors, shapes, oh my! In this one-time session we will be using an unusual tool to sort - CEREAL! We will use the cereal and the marshmallows to notice that things come in many different sizes and shapes and colors and then have fun sorting them. While we are sorting we will practice our numbers. We will count how many are in each group, add to groups, subtract from groups and notice how they change when we do that. Do they get larger or smaller? When we are done with all the hard work of the session, the students can go ahead and enjoy the cereal treat!

Students will improve their ability to sort by description of size, shape and color of an object. The students will also improve their math skills through adding and subtracting using interactive materials.

Hi! I’m Stephanie and I am a wife and a mom to a teenage daughter. I have been working with children for over 20 years in a variety of roles and graduated with a degree in Education. I have assisted teachers in Head Start classrooms to being a lead teacher in a preschool classroom. I also work in an elementary school setting with wonderful students who need a little extra one on one help in reading, writing and math.
All students learn at a pace that is right for them. Education is a not a one size fits all and this past year I had the great experience of working online with students to really focus on just that! We focused on what worked for them when it was our time to work together, if what we tried one time didn't work, we tried something else the next. Learning should be fun, therefore, making sure the students aren't struggling is key!
One bonus of working from home this past year was having a talking parrot who always enjoyed being a part of the class. He didn't always get the right answer but usually got a laugh out of the kids!
