In this ongoing class, students will practice both the phonemic awareness and phonics skills necessary to read and spell words successfully. Each week, we will focus on one word family (for example: cat, bat, mat, sat are all in the same word family). This class is perfect for students who have learned their letter sounds and are ready to start reading! I have 6 years of experience as both a General Education and Special Education teacher, working primarily with students in grades K-2 with mild to moderate learning disabilities. I have helped many developing readers build their reading confidence through explicit and systematic phonics instruction and practice.
