This is a geometry class for 3rd-6th graders. I am teaching about 3-D geometric shapes, their similarities and differences. I will begin class by clearly explaining the characteristics of the 3-D geometric shapes and we will learn the names of each one. Students will improve their recognition of the following 3-D shapes: triangular prism, triangular pyramid, square pyramid, cube, sphere, hemisphere, cone, pentagonal prism, rectangular prism, cylinder I will teach them how to recognize the names of each 3-dimensional shape after identifying each shape's characteristics.

So it is not required for the student to bring anything to class, but they may be on the hunt for an object within their environment during class that represents one of the 3-D shapes. I will only encourage them to locate the object if it is convenient. We won't spend a lot of time on this activity.
