In this class we will discuss how to create our own fantasy zoo on paper. Along the way we will learn facts about wildlife, map-making skills, and creating advertisements/oral presentations. Week 1 We will look at zoo map examples together, and begin on the rough draft. The zoo will be divided into 5 sections: Mammals, Amphibians, Aves, Fish, and Insect departments. Learning about the field of zoology and zookeeping. In addition, students will step into the shoes of a zoologist and imagine what day-to-day tasks would be. Then the student will change hats, and become a zoo creator designing their own personal zoo and then advertising it at the end of the session.
