This class is self-paced (FLEX), structured and interactive. The lesson videos are 10 minutes or less. I also offer Kahoot quizzes/games to help students practice what they've learned. ⭐️I provide a weekly PDF of Lesson Worksheets. Learners will complete the Lesson Worksheets after watching the lesson video and playing Kahoot. The lesson worksheets are not homework, but I do ***strongly*** recommend that parents have their students complete these worksheets weekly, because they support academic growth in students. ⭐️There are 4 lessons each week (phonics, reading, writing, and math). This class covers Arizona & Florida State Standards. Welcome!
My name is Ms. O, I have my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Minnesota with a minor in Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL). I have taught First Grade for the past four years.
Before teaching First Grade, I taught Pre-K for two years. I have been teaching First Grade on Outschool since August of 2021. This past year, I taught STEAM enrichment classes (creative building, engineering, and robotics) for Pre-K to Middle school students and taught Special Needs students in my local school district.
My classes are structured and they follow grade-level academic standards. My classes encourage learners to put in their best effort daily. Students grow academically, develop critical thinking skills and a strong work ethic. I maintain high expectations for students, while promoting a positive attitude toward learning!
