*** All my classes are available in Spanish upon request *** Learner explores a Christmas inspired astronomy class that is kid-friendly, scientific, and filled with fun and wonder. We will cover: The Christmas Tree Cluster: a Supernova which resembles a holiday ornament; the Constellation of Orion ( visible to the naked eye, can be used as a guide to locate the Christmas Tree Cluster and it will be used for a takeaway hands-on project ) & The Stellar Snowflake Cluster - a true space beauty! Class is structured with a colorful slide presentation, lively exchanges, as Learner is introduced to the different astronomical concepts. I love combining the world of science with the world of self discovery. Therefore, students are guided to arrive at their own conclusions, because this is where true learning and understanding happens. For these reasons, classes are kept semi-private to allow for quality, personalized attention and rich exchanges. ------------------------------- For the class Take-Away, Please take a look at the materials. We will create a home-made planetarium with the Constellation of Orion, the Hunter. Once your learner is enrolled, you can grab the document from the classroom where you will find the list of materials and the pattern for the Orion Constellation. If we do not have time during the class, they can make their planetarium later with the parents. Please note that for the younger students, parents will need to help them make the pinholes on their paper. I do recommend that they also bring a cardboard for making the pinhole without hurting the furniture they are working on. ------------------------------- -----> No previous experience is required.

All the materials are optional since the student can make this project later with their parents. During class I will explain how they can build it and we can do it together if time permits. ------------------------------- We will create a home-made planetarium with the Constellation of Orion, the Hunter. I do recommend that they also bring a cardboard for making the pinhole without hurting the furniture they are working on. - a pair of scissors - a flashlight (if you do not have one, the one from your phone would work) - Toilet paper tube (or paper towel tube could work too) - a pin (or something to make a pinhole) - a rubber band (or a tape or something that will help keep the paper constellation in place) - a printed copy of the document posted on the classroom.
