After this lesson, students will be able to Week 1: 1. Learn how to read and write the Kanji for (now, rice fields, man, woman, to see, to go, to eat and to drink) -They will be given as seperate words as well as combined with other kanji to make new words including (fine, weather, and technology) Week 2: 1. Learn how to read and write the Kanji for (now, rice fields, man, woman, to see, to go, to eat and to drink) -You will also learn the combination of the words to make different words (like today, and cafeteria etc.) Week 3: 1. Learn the "te" form of verbs and how to convert them, A.how to convert ru-verbs B. u-verbs ending in u C. u-verbs ending in ku D. u-verbs ending in gu E. u-verbs ending in su F. u-verbs ending in tsu G. u-verbs ending in mu H. u-verbs ending in ru I. Learn about irregular verbs Why is this important. You will learn the first reason in this lesson. The first reason it is used to make polite requests (please open the door or please turn on the light) Week 4: 1. -Asking for polite requests -Using the Te form of the verb and asking politely for things 2. Sequence of events, when describing two activities. - What activity you do first, then add te form of a verb and then the verb you did last with the masu form. Week 5: 1. How to say no to polite requests 2. How to explain reasoning (I went to the restaurant because I was hungry) 3. How to offer assistance and suggestions (Let's go to the store to buy food)
I received my undergraduate degree in the Japanese language, culture, and history. I also earned my Master's degree in K-12 education. I studied abroad at Nihon University in Tokyo as well as worked as an English teacher in Niigata, Japan. I was able to see what I learned firsthand.
