Week One: Day 1: Students will learn how to prepare a decorating bag, make the icing, learn about icing consistencies, will tint icing and learn about gel colors vs liquid colors. We will go over proper bag positioning when decorating around the surface of your dessert vs on top. Students will learn about the various decorating tips and designs each tip can make with icing. Students will learn the basics of cake and cupcake decorating. They will have a full understanding of how to create delicious cakes and cupcakes in a timely fashion and take their decorating skills to the next level.
As a certified pastry chef and instructor, my heart's desire is to inspire the next generation of sweet makers. This introductory decorating class is fast paced and high energy. Your budding decorator will learn all the basics of decorating cakes, cupcakes, and brownies with frosting during these 8 sessions. There will be access to additional videos and recipes for the kids to explore their creative outlets. This is the perfect class for beginners who love shows like cake or cupcake wars.
