Hello! My name is Katrina Veridiano and have been an educator for more than 15+ years. The past three years, I have taught classes in an online setting and love it! I also run a small online art business selling my original artwork and do seasonal art workshops.

When children draw, they use their whole brain. There are three components that the brain
needs to obtain information and keep it: motor skills, perceptual skills, and language.
Studies show that there is a correlation between art and other achievements. 
"Children who participate in art three hours a day, three times a week through one full year are four times more likely to be recognized for academic achievement," report by American for the Arts.
Children who draw out notes retain more information verses writing it out. Thus, it helps
them become better problem solvers, exposes them to cultural diversity, and can be a form
of therapy and well being. Art is just as important as any other subject.

In my classes, we will first start off with a short lesson based on the art objective while incorporating the art elements and principles. Children will then follow a step by step art tutorial but will always have the freedom to make it their own. We will use a variety of mediums such as watercolor, tempera, color pencils, oil pastels, etc. 

I believe that all of us are gifted and artistically inclined. Some just haven't discovered that yet. My mission is to help you find that. Let's expand your creativity! Join me and experience a transformation!
