In this ten-week summer course, students will be introduced to the world of Reggae Music and will explore the origins of Reggae, Music, and the various types of Reggae Music, along with the influential and lessor known icons of reggae music. We will explore reggae music and how it affects and impact Jamaican culture and the world. We will listen to and analyze different types of reggae music and reggae artists' styles. Students will create their own reggae music and present it to the class as a final project.

Week 2: Origin and History of Reggae Music
Week 3: Different types of Reggae Music and the difference between each of them.
Week4:  Factors that Influence Reggae Music
Week 5: Reggae Music Icons
Week 6: How Reggae Music impacts and affects Jamaican Culture.
Week  7:  Reggae Music and the Rastafarianism Connection
Week8:  The Influence of Reggae around the world and it's social impact.
Week 9: Reggae as a Social Movement/Social Change
Week 10: Final Project
