곱셈과 나눗셈의 소개

This class is designed to introduce multiplication and division, but could also be used as a review or supplement for struggling students that have already been introduced.  

Students will be introduced to multiplication and division using the Concrete > Pictorial > Abstract Approach, which has been proven to be highly successful, and used in many schools worldwide.  During the concrete phase of the lesson, students will use manipulatives, which may be household objects.  During the Pictorial stage, students will be asked to draw picture models.  Finally, students will use numbers, notation and symbols for the Abstract Approach.  

Week one will introduce multiplication using manipulatives and pictures
Week two will reinforce what was already learned using pictures and number notation.
Week three will introduce division using manipulatives and pictures
Week four will reinforce what was already learned using pictures and number notation.  Remainders will also be introduced.
Week five will review both multiplication and division problems using all forms of instruction.

Students will be engaged with a variety of mind expanding math problems to practice on their own between the weekly classes to ensure they master each concept.  They are encouraged to use the given tools to help them when they are struggling, but may also send me a personal message with any questions they may have during this process.
