We utilize unique techniques throughout each class, depending on what the subject matter calls for. Painting Surface (this can vary with what supplies you have at home): Stretched canvas, canvas board, cardboard, thick paper, recycled materials like the inside of a cereal box, etc. Recommended sizes are 8" X 10", 9" X 12", or 11" X 14" Pencil Eraser Acrylic Paint Brushes - a variety of sizes (If you don’t have fine detail brushes, toothpicks can be helpful) Water Cup Paper Towel Palette - this can be a paper plate, a sheet of wax paper, or an old magazine For easy cleanup, a placemat and apron or paint shirt are encouraged *Techniques demonstrated in this class will utilize layering and brushwork that works best with opaque paints like acrylic or tempera. If you prefer your child to use watercolor paints I also offer an ongoing watercolor class in which very different techniques are taught.
