Did you know horses are prey animals? Did you know that as prey animals, horses speak a language that is a little different from ours? That doesn't mean that we can't learn to talk like a horse, though, and in this class that's exactly what students will learn to do! Horses communicate using their bodies, and they are constantly telling us things; we just have to learn to listen. In this class, we will look at pictures and videos of horses communicating with humans and with each other. We will begin to decode the secret language horses speak, and then figure out how we can use our bodies to talk back! This class will use a combination of video, slides, images, and discussion to achieve learning goals. Students will not need any prior knowledge or experience for this class. This class is a great intro to horse handling for your resident horse lover!

Students will be able to safely use their bodies to interact with horses.
Students will demonstrate an understanding of unsafe situations when working with horses, and basic safety procedures.
