How to Draw and Paint Cute Desserts ~ On the Menu Today: Donuts

In this art class, students will learn to draw and paint one of their favorite desserts: donuts! Shading, paint techniques, and color theory will be reviewed. Enjoy this deliciously cute art project taught by an elementary art teacher! Space is limited to up to three students to allow individual attention to each student.

Supplies needed:
* Paper (I would recommend mixed media paper or a thicker paper that will be able to hold the paint better) 
* Pencil, eraser, black Sharpie (needs to be a permanent marker so that it doesn't smear when water is applied)
* Cup or small bowl with water (something sturdy that will not tip over when a paintbrush is in it)
* Paint brush(es) (a variety of sizes is nice for the students to choose from)
* Paint (tempera or watercolors paint would both work for this project)
* Paint palette to pour and mix paint (could use a paper plate, wax paper, foil, etc)
*Something round to trace for the outside of the donut (a jar lid, small bowl, masking tape roll, etc.)
* Paper towels
* Glue bottle and glitter are optional, but always a fun addition to this project!
