We'll be analyzing this question and more in another fun poetry class. We'll read the original Scottish lyrics, talking about their origins as well as the origin of the tune. Students will be able to identify who Robert Burns is, and how he is connected to the poem. They will be able to paraphrase the first stanza and explain the songs meaning in modern English. Students will be able to talk about different ways that the song is used today.
