In this 3-week course, students will learn songs, words, and phrases that will help them talk about everyday things, as well as to have a simple conversation with a native Spanish speaker. The vocabulary includes the following: greetings, introductions, colors, numbers, alphabet, manners, and other essential Spanish phrases for the beginning Spanish speaker.

I spent 18 months in Costa Rica teaching and speaking in Spanish. I have a degree in elementary education, with an endorsement in Dual Language Immersion (Spanish/English). I have been teaching languages online for over 3 years. I am currently homeschooling my own children in both Spanish and English.

Homework will be optional but is highly recommended because it will help the students practice what they are learning in class. Students will be asked to create a video to upload and send to the teacher and/or put online (if the parent wishes to showcase what their student is learning with friends and family). If uploading a video is not possible or desired, the student will be encouraged to sing the song or practice the phrases with family and/or friends. No reading or writing will be required, as this class is focused primarily on speaking and listening.

The learner will be assessed in class as they practice speaking with the teacher and other students. They may also be assessed through the homework assignments if they choose to do the assignments.
