This is a flexible schedule class.  A live version of this class is also available.

In this Chemistry class learners will receive segment 1 of 3 of the High School Chemistry Full Curriculum class. This class is aligned with the NGSS standards.  This flex class is designed for someone who needs to complete a High School Chemistry course as well as someone who is currently enrolled in a Chemistry course and wants additional help.  If a learner completes all three segments they will have completed a full curriculum of a High School level Chemistry course that meets the NGSS standards.

Each week in this course students will view an interesting interactive student paced presentation.  On weeks that we have experiments, I will record the experiments on camera and post them for the students to follow.  The students will perform the experiments at home and can post pictures in the Outschool classroom of their final product.  Required supplies for each experiment will be provided at least a week in advance. Most if not all optional experiments use simple household items.

Throughout the lesson the learners progress will be assessed through interactive games, quizzes, and questions within the Nearpod presentation.  

Each week students will complete online activities/worksheets to further reinforce the topic for the week. These activities/worksheets will provide the student with instant feedback on their progress.  Each homework activity will display a score on screen after completion. 
 However, a grade report can be provided at the completion of this segment upon request.

I will be available through Outschool messaging to offer help for any student that needs additional help.  In addition, I will be checking the students progress on the activities and worksheets.  If I feel that a topic needs more clarification I will post additional videos to further explain the subject.  

Learners will NOT be required to login to any website.  I do use Nearpod in my lessons.  Learners may need to click on a link but no login or accounts will be needed.  These sites are used to help make the class even more interactive and fun.
