This Class is all about Using Your Imagination to create a unique scary short story! Write your very own  Halloween Story!
In this Creative Writing Class, Learners will explore the world of creative writing techniques with a spooky prompt. Learners will receive a writing prompt ( topic and picture) and learn what is needed to create the ultimate scary story using basic story elements such as characters, plot, conflict, theme, and settings. Storytelling is so much fun and my goal is to have each learners use their imaginations while creating a very scary but unique short story. 

Class Structure:
- < 1 minute - Introduction - I will say hello and students will say hello (welcome any new learners)
- < 1minute - Review of Class Rules
- 2-3 minutes - Ice breaker - Would you rather ? related to writing prompt
- 10 minutes - Story Elements Basic - We will discuss and read examples of short story elements 
- 1 minute - Brain Break / check for supplies
- 20 minutes - Students will write their scary short story using a build-a-story technique; I will answer questions, provide help, & feedback as needed.
- 5 minutes - Students will read their short story (optional)* 
- >1 minutes - Conclusion - Goodbyes to Students
*If a learner chooses not to share their story with class, they can upload a picture of their writing that way I can provide feedback after class if needed. 

Class materials needed:
Any Journal, Notebook, or composition notebook can be used. Students can also use Loose Leaf paper or use Digital Notebook/tablet to write. A pen or pencil is also needed.
