During our class, students will travel around the world, answering trivia questions along the way in order to win the coveted title of the "Geography Trivia Champion." Examples of Trivia Questions: -What is the longest river in Russia? -What states border Lake Michigan? -What is the world's longest mountain range? -What is the capital of Brazil? Course Outline (Trivia Topics by Week): Week One: Land Features and Vocabulary Week Two: Asia Week Three: North America Week Four: Africa Week Five: Europe Week Six: Australia, Antarctica, and Oceania Week Seven: South America Week Eight: Anything Goes! The trivia game will be played on Kahoot which you can use simultaneously on your laptop with the zoom class or you can use a second device like a phone or tablet to play the game with the class. A game pin will be given at the beginning of each class which will be entered into the website, kahoot.it. Before each class, I will post resources that students can study for the week's game. It is not required that students prepare for the class, but encouraged. Most of the questions will come from the handouts, but some questions will access prior knowledge. After each class, I will post the top three winners of each week's game. Points will be given for each week's performance. At the end of the class, the ultimate winner will be crowned. Even though scores are tabulated, each student will be recognized for their achievements at the end of each game.
