Use it or Lose it! ☺
This class will focus on improving conversational fluency, reinforcing listening skills, reading comprehension and vocabulary building. This ongoing class is designed for Advanced Beginners / Intermediate Spanish Students that already know the basics.
My goal is to help students practice a lot of speaking and writing in Spanish while reading different fun mini-stories that we will re-tell and discuss together.
During our meetings, I introduce new vocabulary that students will find / hear with "The Story of the Week". Students will take turns to participate in class exercises like re-telling the story, fill in the blank, make the sentence true, add a detail, etc. In addition, students will have to use their creativity and make their own mini-story and share it with the class. 🙋♀️🙋♂️

As an experienced Spanish Teacher, I follow the TPRS Method (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling). TPRS lessons are a mixture of reading, storytelling, games and repetition. This methodology motivates and prepares students to trust themselves speaking, reading and understanding a foreign language. In addition, I use a lot of visual aids (power-point presentation, e-books, interactive games) during the class. This helps my students follow the session and reinforces new vocabulary.학습 목표

Hola Niños! My name is Jackie. I was born and raised in Perú. Now, I live in Virginia with my family. My teaching philosophy is learning while having FUN and presenting the material in small pieces. I keep my classes small (1-8 students max.) and we do a lot repetition. My goal is for students to internalize the vocabulary so they can use it in their daily routines.
