Diamantes and Cinquains are similar poetry forms that lend themselves to being learned together. 

Each of these shape forms has a specific number of lines and types of words and phrases  that will be explained in step-by-step lessons .  We'll be sure to look at several examples  written by others, and we'll have a blast sharing student creations with one another.  When our class is completed, your young writers will have created their own memorable moments and verbal pictures.  

The Diamante has seven lines  and creates the shape of a diamond through the length of each of the lines.

The Cinquain has five lines that do not rhyme and is filled descriptive words.

Remember, we are all expanding our knowledge together (including the teacher).
