This class is designed to help students practice social skills in a safe environment, and using fun techniques. We will be using the book "Speak Up and Get Along" By Scott Cooper and published by Free Spirit Publishing. (2019 Edition), which is based on tips from the bird world. Students relate to animals, and by having the techniques tied to a well known bird, they will be able to remember the techniques when they are needed. Students will learn skills to help them with friendship, social skills, dealing with teasing, and others.
I have over 30 years experience as a teacher and elementary counselor. I am endorsed in El Ed, SPED K-12, Counseling 7-12 (Masters). The book makes reference to different birds- I am an avid bird lover and photographer. I teach birding classes on Outschool.
