Travel back in time with me. The year is 1776. In this fun and interactive class, students will engage with the teacher and other students to learn about our one of the authors of the Constitution, Alexander Hamilton. We will learn about his life, his home, his family, and his role in the founding of our country. This class is interactive and students are encouraged to participate as we use Nearpod to do various activities to learn about Alexander Hamilton. Multiple viewpoints on the life of Hamilton will be discussed and are encouraged in the class. Students will learn about the strengths and weaknesses, triumphs and failures of Alexander Hamilton. No previous knowledge is required and no other materials are needed for class. Information about the life of Alexander Hamilton will be presented as provided in the official historical documents from https://www.nps.gov/hagr/index.htm, the book "1776" by David McCauley, the website www.alexanderhamilton.org, the book "The Essential Hamilton: Letters and Other Writings" and the Federalist Papers.

I've been teaching in some capacity for the last 30 years! I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a master's degree in Reading, Language, and Literacy. I started teaching fifth grade in public school, then K-8 in private school, then I taught adults at a community college.
