레벨 Advanced
This course is the most in-depth look at horse anatomy and physiology currently found on the Outschool platform. This course is not introductory. I have adapted a live course to include FLEX activities and include a younger age range. The live taught version of this course can be found here (11-15 year olds): https://outschool.com/classes/coloring-horses-advanced-vet-biology-zoology-anatomy-physiology-1vXAmUWm#usSwirNx6I This course vocabulary is challenging. This is Part 2 of the class. Part 1 is not required to be taken first but it is suggested Part 1 is completed first. Part 1: https://outschool.com/classes/coloring-equine-advanced-science-anatomy-and-physiology-part-1-13-18yo-k6BzTQUF#usSwirNx6I It is all encompassing. This class continues teaching the names of actual muscles, bones, nerves, tendons, veins, and other body parts. Memorizing names of body parts can be exhausting and class videos are not meant to be extremely long 20-30 minutes. The classes are info-packed. Each student will need their own copy of this coloring book: $3.99 Book used for this class on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Horse-Anatomy-Dover-Nature-Coloring/dp/0486448134/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&keywords=horse+anatomy&qid=1635994144&sr=8-10 Coloring the sheets as we learn each part will help you. My class lectures will include additional pictures and explanations. However, due to publication and copyright, I will not be providing students with the pictures to copy in class for their coloring purposes. You must purchase the book. However, the book lasts the entirety of this course, including Part 1 (linked above), Part 2 (this class) and Part 3.Parents should be aware at the end of the book, there are reproductive pages. This course will not cover these pages and any reproductive questions will be referred to mom and dad. - My Mission for This Course: Vet students have to learn what things are and how they function, what can go wrong, how to tell things are going wrong, and how to fix things that are going wrong. In this class, my goal is that students learn what some things are, why some things are important, and some things that go wrong. This is why horse owners and veterinarians care so much, so they can fix it! But be aware, the names of some words can be hard to pronounce. - How The Course Runs: All course content is presented on Monday. There are 3 20-30 minute classes weekly for each of the four weeks. Classes are a lecture opportunity with some 3D modeling and video content. Courses are not intended to be viewed all in one day. Interactive activities are listed below along with class topics. Breaking between classes and playing the optional games and interacting in the classroom will help you learn the material I teach. Some additional activities are optional and given to you to keep forever as learning tools. Please bring the book and coloring utensils as well as pen/pencil to class every time you watch the videos for class. Week 1: Muscles of the Horse Part 1 Muscles of the Horse Part 2 Deeper Muscles of the Horse Part 1 Week 2: Muscles of the Horse Part 3 Deeper Muscles of the Horse Part 2 Deeper Muscles of the Horse Part 3 Week 3: The Horse from the Front: Head and Neck Part 1 The Horse from the Front: Neck and Shoulders Part 2 The Horse from the Front: Legs Part 3 Week 4: The Pelvis The Limbs of the Horse: The Suspensory Apparatus The Front Limbs: The Stay Apparatus ** Interactive Activities Include: Who Am I games, memory games, quizzes, diagram labeling, coloring, printable dough model mats, note taking is encouraged at the ability level of individual students, and possibly occasional body movement as well. ** In this class we will not be diagnosing or treating any animals.
학습 목표
Each week has their own set of goals and learning outcomes.
Ideally, each class meeting, students learn body parts and how those body parts affect the horse.
그 외 세부 사항
학부모 가이드
Each Video is around 30 minutes long, 3 videos weekly.
Some students will prefer to do extra games and coloring to reinforce their learning.
Please observe your children if needed with coloring utensils if sharp.
There is no inappropriate content. We do not discuss the reproductive tract in the book in any part of this course. Beyond basic answers (such as "What is a gelding?" answered by, "A gelding is a boy horse who cannot have foals," reproductive questions will be referred to mom and dad. I do not teach this in this course.
However, because it is veterinary related, students may see organs or cares they think are "disgusting." In video lecture, students will see blood, pee, poop, talk about farts, and see blood and organs/muscle tissue.
