수업 소개

Auntie Sandra has worked with the younger ages for over 25+ years. Her love for dancing the hula goes back over forty years. As a young girl growing up in Hawaii, she has a genuine love for the culture and hula to share with you. A certified teacher, she is passionate, encouraging, and engages children with her genuine spirit. Class time will be fun, active, and your child will be able to perform one hula song at the end of the four weeks.
This FLEX class course will emphasize the hula dance in movement and also share the importance of respecting cultural history. Hula is often shared and performed for entertainment (at a Luau or for party celebrations) however, in history and in current times, hula plays a significant role in preserving the history, lineage, culture, stories, protocols, and traditions of Hawai'i. The respect for Hawaiian cultural lifeways is appreciated and I offer to share the hula that is dear to my heart. This class does not include live meetings and does not have a set class time. A flexible schedule allows your child to learn at a time that works best for your schedule.

What’s included in this class:
•. Discussions are interactive and will be formatted by chat/email or recorded videos

Design a performance assessment for learners to demonstrate their learning

Interaction and Homework:
Students are encouraged to introduce themselves and we will have discussions together throughout the course. Creating flashcards for Hawaiian vocabulary words will help with learning the language. Students can record themselves performing the dance and share it in the classroom. Other students can comment and support Aloha and Ho'ihi (kindness and respect). Auntie Sandra will be able to watch each learner and provide positive feedback and guidance through the course.
