In this class, students will continue their musical education by learning skills in the Piano Adventures Lesson Book (Level 2A).  Students they will continue  to use both hands on the piano at the same time. They will learn about eighth notes, transposition, phrasing in music, and half/whole steps.

I am a retired public school music teacher.  I graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC with a  Bachelors of Music Education.  I have taught music to all grades in the public school system, but spent most of time in elementary and middle school music. I have taught private piano lessons for many years in my home to all ages, ranging from 5 years old to adults.  I have taught online for more than 7 years and enjoy this a great deal!  I am also certified in Reading and ESL and enjoy working with all ages of students.

Students are encouraged to practice several days a week in order to master the skills begin taught in each assignment.  Musical skills build upon each other, so it is important to learn skills in the order that they are presented.  A certain amount of time for practice each day is not necessary, but it is encouraged to practice as many days as possible.

There is no formal assessment for this class.  Students are informally assessed through the uploaded assignments (videos and written activities) that are completed.
