수업 소개

Part 2 of 2
This is the second 8 week section of a 2 part course. If you have not taken part 1, please look through our class listings page and start at the beginning to enjoy the full course.

Are you looking for a class that will help your student think big and change the world? Look no further! In this 16-week class, our experienced instructor will teach your student how to identify and analyse social and environmental issues, think creatively to develop innovative solutions, and communicate and implement their ideas. With no formal grades or tests, learners will have the freedom to explore and develop their own ideas. And with a flexible, pre-recorded format, students can complete the class at their own pace and on their own schedule. Join us for Big Ideas to Change the World - The Class That Helps You Think Bigger!

In this class, students will learn how to think bigger by exploring innovative ideas that can change the world. The class will be divided into the following weeks and topics:

Week 9: Effective communication skills
This week will focus on building effective communication skills. Students will learn how to clearly articulate their ideas, listen to others, and engage in constructive dialogue. They will also learn about different communication styles and how to adapt their communication to different audiences and contexts.

Week 10: Researching and testing ideas
Students will learn how to conduct research to support their ideas, using a variety of sources and methods. They will also learn how to test their ideas, using techniques such as prototyping and feedback gathering.

Week 11: Overcoming obstacles
This week will focus on resilience and problem-solving. Students will learn strategies for overcoming obstacles that may arise when implementing their ideas, such as dealing with setbacks, managing conflict, and navigating uncertainty.

Week 12: Developing a plan of action
Students will learn how to develop a detailed plan of action for implementing their ideas. This will include setting goals, identifying resources, and creating a timeline for implementation.

Week 13: Implementing ideas
This week will focus on the practical aspects of implementing ideas. Students will learn about project management, teamwork, and leadership as they begin to put their plans into action.

Week 14: Reflection and evaluation
Students will learn how to reflect on their experiences and evaluate the effectiveness of their ideas. They will learn how to use feedback to improve their ideas and how to measure the impact of their actions.

Week 15: Sharing ideas with others
This week will focus on sharing ideas with others. Students will learn how to present their ideas in a compelling way, and how to engage others in their cause.

Week 16: Making a difference
In the final week, students will reflect on their journey and the difference they have made. They will also explore ways to continue making a difference in the future, such as by advocating for their cause, mentoring others, or continuing to develop innovative solutions to social and environmental issues.

By the end of the class, students will have a better understanding of how to think bigger and develop ideas that can make a difference in the world. They will have developed essential skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and effective communication. Join us for a course that will inspire and empower your student to think bigger and make a difference.

The social and environmental issues that will be brought up during the course of this class include poverty, inequality, social justice, climate change, deforestation, and biodiversity loss. These topics will be covered in weeks 4 and 5 of the course.

The flexible schedule (Recorded Flex Class) allows your learners to watch the pre-recorded videos and do them at a time that is FUN for them! You can also spend extra time on the topics your child is most interested in. Since this is a flex class with no live meetings, students can log in at a convenient time to complete the week's lesson. We will be going through each week as a group and I will post the lesson weekly (depending on which day you started).

The videos will contain the information required to give students a good understanding of each topic and each one will include homework for the students to undertake during the week, as part of a project.

After watching each video and completing the homework assignments, students will be provided with feedback and the specific next steps on how to improve or adapt.
Time frame for the Week:
Mondays - The teacher will post the information needed for the week. Students can submit questions.
Tuesdays - Wednesday - The teacher can answer any questions pertaining to the topic of the week. The students will need to complete any homework assignments and answer any questions in the discussion.
Thursday - Students need to have all tasks completed and uploaded in the classroom for teacher feedback and discussion. Students will discuss it among themselves.
Friday - The teacher will provide feedback to the class and individual students.
Saturday - Sunday - The teacher will be available to answer any questions that the students may have for the week or the next week.
