* This is a FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE course; classes DO NOT MEET LIVE
* Class recordings are posted in the classroom on a weekly basis, starting on the given start date by noon EST.
* All work, including recorded assignments, must be submitted in a timely manner in order to receive feedback. Feedback is provided within 24 to 48 hours after work is submitted.  

In this course, students will be introduced to level A 1 Beginners Portuguese for Young Learners. Over the period of 7 lessons, learning will revolve around the theme [Eu, Tu e o Meu Mundo] - You, Me and My World - and topic related vocabulary and grammar.  

Lessons build upon each other allowing for language recognition, practice and consolidation. 
**ASSIGNNMENTS AND FEEDBACK:  Students will be asked to record a response or complete a written assignment at the end of each class.

Additional resources to support and complement your young learner's learning journey will be provided throughout the course, as will content summaries after each lesson.

No prior knowledge of Portuguese is required.

Unit 1 Topic: Eu, Tu e o Meu Mundo

Lesson 1 - Introductions - Exploring Portuguese, sharing our name and age.
Lesson 2 -  Introduction to topic vocabulary, categorizing nouns
Lesson 3 -  More about me and you: sharing more information about ourselves and inquiring about others; introduction to the verbs [ser] and [ter]
Lesson 4 - Identifying things and Introducing friends; expanding upon the verbs [ser] and [ter] 
Lesson 5 -  Greetings and Feelings; introduction to the verb [estar]
Lesson 6 - Learning my numbers (1 to 10)
Lesson 7 - Learning some colors and describing some elements of our world
