Students will learn about the history of European medieval illuminated letters and manuscripts.
Students will reflect on some of their personal favorite things that they can include in a modern illuminated letter of an initial in their name.

Judy has a master's degree in Integrating Arts Into The Curriculum and taught students in public schools for over thirty years. She has spent a considerable amount of time in sixteen countries in Europe which piqued her interest and led to research about medieval illuminated manuscripts.  She will share her knowledge and research plus pictures she's taken of illuminated letters and manuscripts in European museums.

Judy will share pictures she's taken of illuminated manuscripts, pens, natural dyes, and parchment that she has seen on visits to museums in Europe and the United States.
