In this class, students will use their imaginations to create a landscape of the setting sun over a body of water. They will receive step by step instructions on how to sketch out the "rough" picture, how use and paint with watercolors, and how to blend colors. We will discuss the color wheel and how to mix colors in order to get the shades and colors they want for their art work. I will provide students with instruction for each step, as well as to model each step we complete.

As we work, I will encourage students to ask questions if they need assistance as well as ask to see their work as they progress through it using their webcam. While the landscape and technique are important, my main goal is to teach students that art is about expression, not perfection as well as the fact that there are no mistakes in art!

This is a beginner art class but learners should be able to identify the colors red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, white, black, brown, and gray. They should also know what a sunset is as well as bodies of water such as lake or ocean.
