In this class, students will learn about the components of rhythm. We will discuss tempo, beats, and note values. Students will learn and practice examples of rhythm as a group using the music from Disney’s 'Encanto.' This class will use a combination of a slideshow presentation, video/audio clips, group discussions, group activities. After this class, students will be able to define the following musical terms: beat, tempo, quarter note, half note, and whole note. Students will be able to identify and clap along to the beat of a song at the appropriate tempo. Students will be able to apply their knowledge to any of their favorite songs.
