Ola!  Meu nome é Sra. Cristina!  Qual é o seu nome?

Learners will gain a comprehensive knowledge of the Portuguese language of Portugal in a highly interactive setting.  

My teaching style is to combine visual aids and hands on activities to attend to the different learning abilities of all those in the class.
Not only will students learn basic vocabulary but there will also be an emphasis on Portuguese culture.  We will also compare the similarities between Portugal and other European languages, such as French, Spanish, and Italian. *** Please note, a portion of our 1st class will be getting to know about your individual learners and their learning style. I model my lessons to try and accommodate every style in my classes.**

Items will build from week to week and we will begin each class answering questions in Portuguese from the week before. By the end of the course, learners will be very comfortable speaking, reading and writing in Portuguese.

Week 1: Review of Portuguese I class and determine what level students are in the language.
Week 2: Os Amigos/Friends- Singular and Plural, Masculine and Feminine
Week 3:  Verbos do Inverno/ Seasonal Verbs - Lesson and Activity
Week 4: Comida/Food - Vocabulary and Project
Week 5:  Mid Review by Kahoot
Week 6:  Adjetivos, Vocabulário e pronúncia
Week 7: Que Horas Sao? Telling Time
Week 8: Casa/House- Vocabulary and Project
Week 9: Write a short assignment of items learned.
Week 10: Review and Kahoot or Jeopardy Game

Learners require previous language experience. Students will have the opportunity to work on worksheets during class and outside of class time for maximum retention.

This is an inclusive class in which students of all abilities are welcome. If a student is unable to communicate verbally they are welcome to use the chat. If your student has any other needs that require accommodations please let me know and we will work develop a way for your learner to participate in a way that they are able.

 A letter grade can be provided, by request, at the end of the semester based on participation and completion of work.
