In this class, students will actively participate in reading activities, speaking, and conversation with peers and teacher. Students will answer questions, read stories, and play some games. Basic knowledge of Zoom usage and internet navigation is helpful. 

Students will be given a topic for the lesson, go over some basic vocabulary, usually read a passage or simple story relatable to the topic, and be given prompts to have a discussion. I use videos, stories, slideshows, and games to prompt students and share lessons.

Lessons do not build on each other from week to week, so if you need to withdraw from the class and enroll at a later date, your student can jump right back in! Lessons are mostly student directed and we will talk a lot about what students are interested and let the class naturally progress from there.

My style of teaching uses a lot of total physical response (TPR) and motions showing and explaining concepts. I also encourage much student participation and try to get students to do most of the talking with my guidance, adding any language correction that may be needed. 

Students are required to have a basic understanding of reading and speaking English in order to participate.
