The class will be taught over Outschool. This is a 30 minute reading session for your child. We will teach 4 specific topics: spelling, phonics, comprehension, and fluency. All utilizing google slides and canva. We will cover an initial assessment to help address developing skill. Through this we will create a course learner outcome,. They will be in the four areas of reading: spelling, phonics, comprehension, and fluency. I will teach in a very interactive style through TPR (total physical response) . I will also be using the philosophy of Blooms taxonomy, Webb’s depth of knowledge, and Maslow’s hierarchy to continually reach growth goals for students. No required knowledge. We will interact on slides, PowerPoint, kahootit, documents, and interactive- charts and graphs. We will start class with introductions (5 mins), move into target area phonics, spelling, comprehension, and fluency (5 mins), right into student learning (15 mins), and share the learning and closing (5 mins)

My name is Teacher Jean and I am really excited about teaching!
I have been teaching for 7 years as a classroom teacher and 1 year as a reading specialist. I have taught all general education courses, as well as, specific reading ones.
I believe all students are capable of learning and that we all learn through doing (Jean Piaget- constructivist theory). Also, that we are social creatures and we can learn through socially developing with each other. (Urie Brofenbrenner)
