In this five week art camp, elementary-aged students will learn the basics of drawing! Students will begin each lesson learning the vocabulary for that week. Next, students will practice using this vocabulary in the drawing of the week. Lessons are designed to provide structured learning while still providing space for creative personal touches! 

Week One: Texture
     Project: Implied Texture Monsters
     Vocabulary: Texture, Implied Texture, various texture words such as bumpy, smooth, etc. 

Week Two: Repetition 
     Project: Summer Suns
     Vocabulary: Repetition, Pattern, Warm Colors

Week Three: Form     
     Project: 3D Form Treehouse Drawings
     Vocabulary: Cube, rectangular prism, cone, pyramid, cylinder, form, shape 

Week Four: Space  
     Project: Landscape Drawing
     Vocabulary: Depth, Space, Horizon Line, overlapping, foreground, middle ground, background

Week Five: Proportion 
     Project: Super Hero Self-Portrait Figure Drawing   
     Vocabulary: Figure Drawing, Self-Portrait 

I encourage students to use the materials available to them at home. 
Suggested materials include:
-Paper
-Pencil and eraser
-Crayons/Markers/Colored pencil, etc (early finishers can add color)

Students may need additional time to complete their art after class.
