Students will learn about shapes and how adding different types of shapes together can make an amazing piece of art. Students will pick different types of shapes with me helping and showing different examples. We will do a directed drawing where we draw together but each student will create a different and unique type of robot as we talk about art vocabulary. Students will learn about the vocabulary for the lesson such shapes and lines. Students will learn that creating art is as easy as knowing how to draw shapes. Students will create an original robot that they will talk about at the end of class.
I have been teaching for 17 years, I have a passion for music and art and love to teach it to beginner reading students. Music and art opens so many possibilities and art is so easy to do if you have the write tools of shapes. I strive to integrate many topics into one since I usually only get to have my students once a week. You can learn something one day and be able to use it right away. I teach PreK-5th grade general music and art, This includes learning art and music history and basic knowledge to build upon.
Paper (card stock would be the best, but any kind can be used) Pencil and Eraser Washable Markers (or crayons if you don't have markers) Optional: Cup of water and paintbrush
